On Saturday February 4th., five retired racers arrived from Florida. On Sunday four of the five went to their new homes. Leti & David Speer adopted “Shoes”, a lovely little Brindle female. ”Zoie” was adopted by Ken Herrington. She is a four and a half year shiny black female with a friendly mellow personality. Jon Self & Glenn Russell are second time greyhound adopters, and they took home “Connor”, a handsome two and a half year old red male ex-racer with an amazing personality. Jon and Glenn now have a matching set of red greyhounds with Connor and Tess.
Peter and Thea Patrick are also second time greyhound adopters. ”Hydroplane” went home with Peter to be a companion for their male greyhound “Shane”. “Plane” is a pretty little fawn brindle with a happy, confident, personality.
The fifth greyhound will be going to his new home shortly. He will be joining Calvin and Sioux, two retired racers at Craig and Jeanne Tasens’ home. Lone Wolf is a 3 year old white and red male. Earlier this past week Stephanie and Chuck Guthrie adopted Holland Windmill (Windy). Now called “Pogo”, he joins “Dash” in the Guthrie home. He is a very nice two and a half year old black male that Steph and Chuck had been fostering. He and Dash make a stunning pair, the white and black of Dash going so well with the all black Pogo. Congratulations to all. Love and enjoy your hounds, and give them a hug from me.
Thanks to the crew who helped make it all happen: Soon Park and Mark Hepler who drove to Richmond to pick up the dogs; Soon and Lori O’Mara for preparing the dogs for meeting their new humans; Chuck and Stephanie Guthrie, Wendy and Mike Ott, Barbara Moskowitz and Kim Barnett who helped with the adoption; Niels who kept this awesome group of volunteers supplied with food and drinks. Thanks everyone. Your work is very much appreciated. You are what makes our adoption weekends special.
